What is Hydroquinone?
Hydroquinone White acicular crystalline powder It is easy to change color when exposed to light in the air. Its aqueous solution can oxidize to brown in air, and oxidizes faster in alkaline media. Melting point 170-171 ℃, boiling point 285-287 ℃, relative density 1.33215, easily soluble in hot water, ethanol, and ether, slightly soluble in benzene. The chemical properties are lively, easily oxidized, and can also undergo esterification, substitution, and other reactions.
Hydroquinone is mainly used as a photographic developer,can only function in strongly alkaline solutions. The restoration speed is slower than that of Meituer, but once the image appears, the density increases rapidly and a larger contrast can be obtained. The development is fastest at temperatures between 27℃and 29℃, slows down below 15℃, and almost stops below 5℃. Excessive usage can generate warm words in photos.
