What is Chloramine T?
Chloramine-T is a sulfonamide agent with N-terminal chlorination and N-terminal deprotonation, used as an insecticide and mild disinfectant. Soluble in water, actually insoluble in benzene, chloroform, and ether. Chloramine-T is used for wound washing, mucosal disinfection, water disinfection, and sterilization of medical equipment. Generally, a 1-2% aqueous solution is used as a wound detergent, with a concentration of 0.1-0.2% for mucosal disinfectants and 1:250000 for drinking water disinfectants. Used as a bleaching agent and oxidizing desizing agent in the printing and dyeing industry.
